Welcome to the Eugene Fencers Club website!
EFC meets at Roosevelt Middle School, 680 East 24th St, Tuesday and Thursday 6:15pm to 8:15pm. EFC meets every Tuesday and Thursday that school is in session except when the school is closed (vacations, snow days, dances, etc.).
For up to date information on club activities, visit our Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Eugene-Fencers-Club/177148118983698.
Roosevelt also posts school schedule information at: www.4j.lane.edu.
Hope to see you at club!
Well, we've had our last night at Roosevelt for the year. That's right - May 30 was our final day at the school. We took photos and videos, which we will post on our Facebook page soon!
If you'd like to fence a little longer in June, join us at Willamalane, at 250 S. 32nd Street, Springfield, each Thursday in June from 6:30-8:30pm. (July and August will be our annual break, as usual.) NO COST to our EFC members in good standing. That's right! The Club will cover the cost so that you can check it out! Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org so that we can make sure that we bring enough fencing gear (and machines!) for you. And make sure that we have a good email for you so that we can contact you about our fall parade entry in the Eugene Celebration! See you in Springfield!
We haven't posted new photos on the site for a long time -- shame on us. New photos are posted from 2012 Oregon State Games and Summer Nationals.
The EFC meets in the small (B-Hall) gym around the back of the building. Tournaments are generally held in the large gym visible from 24th Street. Directions to Roosevelt from I-5: exit at 30th Avenue. Head west, going over the hill (30th Avenue) 2.3 miles, towards Hilyard Street. Turn Right on Hilyard Street, and travel 0.6 miles to 24th Avenue. Turn Left on E 24th Avenue. School is located on corner. Parking is behind school near small gym. A Google map to Roosevelt Middle School.
The Eugene Fencers Club wishes to thank the City of Eugene Athletics Department and the Parks and Recreation Department for the very valuable sponsorship they have granted us over the years. Since 1978, the Athletics Department has provided us with facilities, staff time, gym use and most important, encouragement in our program. This has allowed the Eugene Fencers Club to flourish as an organization and has allowed us to provide a valuable alternative sport for the community at large. Many times through the years the many students who have gone through our program have confirmed their gratefulness to the Parks and Recreation Department for helping our program to be as successful as it has been. We look forward with gratitude to the continuing relationship with the City Athletics Department in the years ahead.
